In photography, there is a distinct difference between taking a picture and a portrait. A portrait requires a sitting, special clothing and a personal object, such as a teddy bear, book, or even a favorite football, in order for the artist/photographer to enhance the personality and create an image that will bring out and capture the personalities of the people photographed. The artist/photographer may take several different poses so that he/she may achieve the artistic destination on canvas that he/she may visualize, thus creating a work of art.
